Badges

The small labels on product images for sale, sold out, new and your own tags.

What it controls

Badges are the small labels over the product image on cards, on the product page gallery and in the quick view. Badge position puts them top left or top right, everywhere at once. Each badge type has its own background and text color:

  • Sale badge: shown when the selected variant has a compare at price above its price.
  • Sold out badge: shown when no variant can be bought.
  • New badge: shown for products created within Mark as new for days, and for products tagged new.
  • Custom badge: shown for products carrying any of the tags in Product tags, with the tag text as the label. bestseller, staff pick gives two possible badges.
  • Price badge: the saving marker on bundle cards and next to a discounted price.

How it connects

Product cards, the Product information gallery, Featured product, Quick view and the bundle tiers block read these settings. Text and background are fixed colors here, not scheme roles, so a badge looks the same on every surface.

Setting it up

  1. Choose Badge position.
  2. Set the Sale badge colors to something that reads as a deal in your brand, and the Sold out badge to something quiet.
  3. If you use custom tags for merchandising, list them under Product tags and set the custom colors.
  4. Set Mark as new for to how long a launch stays a launch in your store, or 0 to turn the automatic new badge off.

Tips

  • A product shows at most two badges at once: the state badge (sale or sold out) and one more. Keep custom tags to one or two so the image stays visible.
  • The new badge is automatic for recently created products. Tag a product new to keep the badge beyond that window, for example for a relaunch.
  • The price badge is the small saving marker on bundle cards and in the buy box, not a badge over the image. Its colors are set here so it matches the sale badge.
