Password
The page visitors see while the store is password protected, with logo, message, email signup and a background image.
What it does
The whole password page: the logo, a heading, the store’s password page message (or the fallback from the section), an email signup, social media links and a background image with an overlay. The password entry itself is a link at the bottom that opens the form.
When to use it
It is on the password template and shows while Online Store → Preferences → Password protection is on: before launch, during a rebuild.
Setting it up
- Upload a Background image and set Overlay opacity so the text reads.
- Write the Heading. Write the message in the admin under Preferences.
- Decide on Show email sign-up and Show social media links.

Tips
- The message visitors see is the one from Online Store, Preferences, Password page in your admin. The Fallback message here is used only when that one is empty.
- The password field is behind the small Enter using password link at the bottom, as Shopify requires. Your reviewers and testers use it.
- Signups here create customers with the newsletter tag, the same as the newsletter section.
